The Metter Fire-Rescue Department is a combination department consisting of fulltime professional firefighters and volunteer professional firefighters. Our coverage area is 249 square miles covering the entire Candler County area. Fire station #1 is located in downtown Metter at 56 South Lewis Street, and station #2 is located at 120 South Main Street in the Town of Pulaski. We have an ISO rating of a class 3 within the City of Metter and in the Town of Pulaski. The area outside the City of Metter within 5 road miles of the Metter Station #1 has an ISO rating of 3. The area outside the Town of Pulaski within 5 road miles of the Pulaski Station #2 has an ISO rating of class 3. We have mutual aid agreements with all surrounding fire departments.  

The Metter Fire-Rescue provides the highest level of emergency services, which includes:

  • fire protection

  • rescue services

  • emergency management

  • public education and fire prevention

Metter Fire-Rescue will strive to protect and preserve the health and safety of all personnel and to return them safely to their families.
